The cryopedometric station is a piece of strategic equipment in terms of winter viability and the safety of road networks, airports, and railways. It helps in the decision-making process. This station guarantees reliable continuous real-time data.
Cryopedometric stations are installed on the most sensitive points of your network. They offer an automated reading of road surface temperature as well as the load-bearing ground at different depths. They communicate the data over the Internet. We build two types of electronic cryopedometer : wired (with a cable connecting the sensor to the station motherboard) or wireless.
Advantages
Electronic cryopedometer :
The length of the electronic cryopedometer and the number of reading points at different depths are determined by the client's needs. METEO OMNIUM builds the custom sensor. The standard sensor is 100 cm long with 21 reading points, every 5 cm.
Solar station
The electronic cryopedometer is associated with a box on the side of the road which includes a battery, solar panel, and GSM transmitter allowing for the data to be sent through the Internet. The link between the cryopedometer and the box can be wired (cable) or wireless (radio).
Electrical consumption of the system is very low. The battery's autonomy can be calibrated to cover the needs of an entire winter season (6 months for example) without a solar panel.
Contrary to a manual cryopedometer, the automatic cryopedometer does not require any movement to collect the temperatures.
When it's connected to a GSM antenna, it transmits directly its data over the internet.
Temperature curves are thus collected and made available on a computer, a tablet, or a smartphone connected to the Internet.
Cryograph view allows visualizing the depth of frost and its evolution at depth over time.
The cryopedometer is sealed vertically inside the road surface after simple drilling.
Its cable lies in a trench.
