The combined air temperature and relative humidity sensor were specially designed for meteorological applications.
The combination of air temperature measurements with those of hygrometry allows calculating very precisely the dew point, crucial information in winter viability (RWIS) to ensure road safety.
Hygrometric measurements are of interest in the food distribution sector to control the good conservation of certain products. As well, in the agricultural sector, it determines the humidity of soils, which allows optimizing harvesting and warehousing of those harvest in the best conditions.
Sensors can vary relative to the client's needs (range of measurement, precision, response time, usage environment...). METEO OMNIUM adapts the type of sensor to install for each situation.
One sensor collects both sets of measurements : air temperature and hygrometry

To maintain the sensor's precision, it is necessary to perform yearly manual cleaning maintenance
The probe must be in the shield 2 meters above the ground in an open area.
The specific shield used to protect the sensor and probes from solar radiation and severe weather can vary depending on the measurement precision desired.
The precision's relation to the shield specifically is variation relative to wind speed and solar radiation makes air temperature readings problematic.
The shield's quality is imperative to guarantee airflow renewal within it, which in turn guarantees the most precise measurements.
